About converting XML to PDF

Raw XML — a config file, an API response, structured data you need to archive or hand to someone who doesn't want to open it in a code editor — is far more readable pretty-printed with proper indentation than as one dense line. This tool formats an XML file or pasted XML with clear indentation and saves it as a readable PDF.

The XML is parsed and pretty-printed with consistent indentation in a monospaced layout, then converted to a paginated PDF using jsPDF and html2canvas — entirely in your browser. The output is a readable document, not a syntax-highlighted one; it's meant for printing or archiving structured data, not as a code viewer.

Supported files

Accepts an .xml file or pasted XML. Produces a formatted, paginated PDF with proper indentation.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Parsing and PDF generation both happen entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

XML to PDF — frequently asked questions

Does this apply an XSLT stylesheet?+

No — it pretty-prints the raw XML as monospaced, indented text. It doesn't transform the XML through XSLT.

Is there a free way to convert XML to a readable PDF?+

Yes — this tool pretty-prints the XML as a PDF, free and entirely in your browser.

Can I paste XML directly instead of uploading a file?+

Yes — paste text straight into the box, or upload an .xml file; both are formatted the same way.

Is my file uploaded to convert it?+

No — parsing and PDF generation both happen entirely in your browser.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
