About converting text to PDF

Turning a plain .txt file, or text you just paste in, into a properly formatted PDF is a small but common need — a quick note, a script, a plain-text draft that needs to go out as a real document. This tool wraps your text in a clean, readable layout and outputs it as a paginated PDF.

The text is placed into a styled HTML document — legible font, sensible line height and margins — which is then converted to a PDF using jsPDF and html2canvas, paginating automatically as the content runs long. Everything happens in your browser; there's no length limit beyond what your device can comfortably handle.

Supported files

Accepts a .txt file or pasted plain text. Produces a formatted, paginated PDF.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Text to PDF — frequently asked questions

Is the layout preserved?+

Yes — text is rendered in a monospaced font with your original line breaks and spacing kept.

Is there a free way to convert a TXT file to PDF?+

Yes — this tool renders the text entirely in your browser, free and with no watermark.

Can I paste text directly instead of uploading a file?+

Yes — paste text straight into the box, or upload a .txt file; both are converted the same way.

Is my file uploaded to convert it?+

No — the text is rendered to PDF entirely in your browser.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
