About converting between video formats
MP4 (H.264/AAC) plays on essentially everything — phones, editors, social platforms. WebM (VP9/Opus) is usually smaller and well-supported by browsers, but not universally by other apps or devices. This tool converts either way, whichever direction you need.
The video is decoded and re-encoded with WebCodecs, the browser's native hardware-accelerated codec API — entirely on your device, nothing uploaded. Like any re-encode, there's a small, normal quality trade-off; it isn't a lossless container remux.
Supported files
Accepts MP4, MOV or WebM. Produces MP4 or WebM, your choice.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser with WebCodecs — the video is never uploaded.

Video Converter — frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded anywhere?+
No. It's decoded and re-encoded entirely in your browser with the WebCodecs API — nothing is sent to a server.
What's the difference between MP4 and WebM?+
MP4 (H.264/AAC) plays everywhere — every phone, editor and social platform. WebM (VP9/Opus) is usually smaller and is well-supported by browsers, but not by every app or device.
What input formats work?+
MP4, MOV and WebM. If your browser can decode it, this tool can convert it.
Does converting lose quality?+
There's a small, normal amount of re-encoding loss, same as any other browser-based video conversion — it isn't a lossless container remux.
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
