About converting PDF to PNG

PNG is the format to pick when you need each PDF page as an image with crisp edges and no compression artefacts — diagrams, screenshots, line art, or anything with text you want to stay sharp. It also supports transparency.

PDFCure renders every page with pdf.js in your browser and encodes it as a lossless PNG at your chosen resolution. Files are larger than the JPG equivalent but pixel-perfect. Nothing is uploaded, and you can grab the pages one at a time or in a single ZIP.

Why choose PNG over JPG?+

PNG is lossless, so text edges and line art stay crisp with no compression artefacts, and it supports transparency. The trade-off is a larger file — for photo-heavy pages JPG will be much smaller.

What resolution are the images?+

Each page is rendered at 2x scale, then exported as a full-quality PNG. All pages come back together in a zip.

Is there a free way to export PDF pages as PNG?+

Yes — each page is rendered as a lossless PNG, free and without uploading the file to a server.

Can I export just one page instead of the whole document?+

Not in this version — it exports every page. Use Extract Pages first if you only need specific pages converted.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
