About converting BMP to PDF

A quick way to get an old-format BMP image into a document workflow that expects PDF — a scan, a screenshot, or an old image file someone needs as a shareable, printable page.

The BMP is decoded and placed onto a full page in a new PDF with pdf-lib, at its original resolution — entirely in your browser. Add several BMPs at once and they become a multi-page PDF in the order you set.

Supported files

Accepts BMP images. Produces a PDF with each image as its own page.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Placing the BMP image onto a PDF page happens entirely in your browser — the image is never uploaded.

BMP to PDF — frequently asked questions

Will the PDF be large?+

BMP is uncompressed, so the images are re-encoded as PNG inside the PDF to keep the file reasonable.

Is there a free way to convert BMP images to PDF?+

Yes — this tool. Conversion happens entirely in your browser, free and with no upload.

Can I combine several BMP images into one PDF?+

Yes — add multiple BMPs and they become a multi-page PDF in the order you arrange them.

Is my file uploaded to convert it?+

No — the BMP is decoded and placed onto a PDF page entirely in your browser.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
