About scanning to PDF
Turning a physical document into a PDF with just a phone — no scanner, no separate app — is one of the more practically useful things a browser can now do. This tool takes one or more photos of a document (via your phone's camera or by uploading existing photos) and combines them into a single multi-page PDF.
Each captured photo is placed onto its own PDF page at full resolution with pdf-lib, in the order you capture or arrange them — entirely in your browser. For a document that should look genuinely scanned rather than like a photo (evening out lighting, adding that flat-scan look), pair this with PDF to Scanned PDF afterward, or start from a cleaner source and skip that step if the photos already look sharp.
Supported files
Accepts photos taken with your camera or uploaded from your device. Produces a single multi-page PDF.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Photos are combined into a PDF entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

- 3
Build the PDF
The captured pages appear on your computer — reorder them if needed and download the PDF.
Scan to PDF — frequently asked questions
Do the photos I take get uploaded anywhere?+
Yes, briefly — unlike this app's other tools, which run entirely in your browser, the photos have to pass through our server to travel from your phone to your computer. They're deleted from the server the moment your computer retrieves them to build the PDF.
How long is the QR code valid for?+
15 minutes from when it's generated. If it expires before you're done, just refresh the page on your computer for a new one.
Can I remove a page before saving?+
Yes — tap the trash icon on any thumbnail on your phone to discard it before tapping Save.
Is there a free way to scan a document with my phone into a PDF?+
Yes — scan the QR code with your phone, take photos, and they arrive as a PDF on your computer, free and with no app to install.
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
