About drawing a shape onto a video

This burns a rectangle, circle, line or arrow onto every frame of a video, in a color and fill style you choose — handy for pointing something out, boxing a detail, or a simple annotation without a full editing suite.

The shape is drawn with the canvas 2D API onto each decoded frame before the video is re-encoded, entirely in your browser. This places one shape per pass; run the tool again on the result to layer a second one.

Supported files

Accepts MP4, MOV or WebM. Produces a video with the shape burned in, same format.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The video is decoded, drawn on and re-encoded entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Add Shapes to Video — frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?+

No. Every frame is decoded, the shape is vector-drawn onto it with the Canvas API, and the frame is re-encoded — all on your device, nothing sent to a server.

What shapes are available?+

Rectangle, circle, line and arrow, in any color, filled or outlined.

Does the shape show for the whole video?+

Yes — the shape is redrawn at the same position and size on every frame, so it's visible for the entire clip.

Can I add more than one shape?+

Not yet — this places a single shape. Run the tool again on the result to layer a second one.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
