About merging PDF files

Merging combines several documents into one PDF while keeping every page exactly as it was — no re-compression, no quality loss, no re-flowing of text. It is the right tool when you need to send a single file instead of five attachments: a signed contract plus its appendices, a scanned form with its cover letter, or a set of receipts for one expense claim.

PDFCure does the merge with the pdf-lib library running in your browser. Each file you add is read into memory, its pages are copied into a new document in the order you set, and the combined file is handed back for download. Nothing is uploaded. You can also drop in images and Office files — they are converted to PDF pages first (with the same fidelity limits as the standalone converters) and then merged in place.

  2. 2

    Add and order your files

Add every PDF, image or Office file you want to combine, then drag them into the order they should appear.

  3. 3

    Merge and download

Click Merge, review the combined file, and download your single PDF.

Merge PDF — frequently asked questions

Can I mix PDFs with images or Office files?+

Yes — add PDFs, images (JPG/PNG/WebP/GIF), Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx/.csv), and PowerPoint (.pptx) to the same merge. Each non-PDF file is converted to PDF first (same as the standalone Convert tools, so it inherits their fidelity limits), then everything is combined in your chosen order.

Can I change the order of the files before merging?+

Yes — after you add files, use the up/down arrows next to each one to reorder them before merging.

Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?+

No hard limit — you can add as many as your browser's memory can comfortably handle.

Is 'combine PDF' or 'join PDF' the same as merging?+

Yes — merge, combine, and join all mean the same thing here: putting multiple files together into a single PDF in the order you choose.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
