About merging PDF files
Merging combines several documents into one PDF while keeping every page exactly as it was — no re-compression, no quality loss, no re-flowing of text. It is the right tool when you need to send a single file instead of five attachments: a signed contract plus its appendices, a scanned form with its cover letter, or a set of receipts for one expense claim.
PDFCure does the merge with the pdf-lib library running in your browser. Each file you add is read into memory, its pages are copied into a new document in the order you set, and the combined file is handed back for download. Nothing is uploaded. You can also drop in images and Office files — they are converted to PDF pages first (with the same fidelity limits as the standalone converters) and then merged in place.
Merging is lossless — the tool copies page objects rather than re-rendering them, so text stays selectable, links keep working, and image quality is untouched. If you need to change the page order after merging, or drop a page, run the result through Organize PDF.
Supported files
Accepts PDF plus JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF images, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx / .csv) and PowerPoint (.pptx). Non-PDF files are converted to PDF pages first (same fidelity as the standalone converters), then merged. The output is always a single PDF.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Every file you add is read into your browser's memory and combined there with pdf-lib; nothing is sent to a server. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the merge still works.
Common problems
- The tool freezes or the tab crashes on large files
- The merge runs in your browser's memory, so a few hundred MB of PDFs at once can exhaust it — especially on a phone. Merge in smaller batches, or close other tabs first.
- A Word or Excel file looks different after merging
- Office files are converted to PDF before merging and the converters don't reproduce every layout detail. For a pixel-perfect result, export to PDF from the original app first, then merge the PDFs.
- Bookmarks or form fields disappeared
- Merging flattens the document outline and can drop interactive form fields. Add bookmarks back with the Bookmarks tool, or fill the form before merging.

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
