About generating UUIDs
A UUID (universally unique identifier) is a 128-bit value used across software as a practically-guaranteed-unique ID — for a database row, a session, a file — without needing a central authority to hand out sequential numbers. This tool generates UUIDs (version 4, the random variant) on demand, one or many at a time.
Each UUID is generated using `crypto.randomUUID()` or the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure random values, directly in your browser — the same quality of randomness used for the password generator, since a UUID's uniqueness guarantee depends on the randomness actually being unpredictable.
Supported files
No file — choose how many UUIDs you need. Produces ready-to-copy v4 UUIDs.
Is my file uploaded?
Yes, completely private. UUIDs are generated entirely in your browser.
How to use the UUID Generator
- 1
Pick a version
v4 for random IDs, v7 for time-ordered IDs that sort by creation time.
- 2
Set the count
Generate one or up to 200 at once, optionally uppercase.
- 3

Copy all the UUIDs to your clipboard.
UUID Generator — frequently asked questions
v4 or v7?+
v4 is fully random. v7 embeds a timestamp so the IDs sort chronologically — better as database keys.
Are these guaranteed unique?+
v4 has ~5.3×10^36 possibilities, so collisions are effectively impossible in practice.
Is there a free UUID generator online?+
Yes — this tool. It runs entirely in your browser, free and with nothing sent to a server.
Can I generate more than one at a time?+
Yes — set how many you need and generate them all together, ready to copy as a list.
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
