About converting a PDF to look scanned
Sometimes you want a clean, digitally-produced PDF to look like it came out of an office scanner — a slight skew, a bit of sensor noise, a warm off-white paper tone — for consistency with other scanned documents in a set, or because a form specifically asks for a "scanned copy." This tool applies exactly that look to an otherwise clean PDF.
Every page is re-rendered as an image with pdf.js, then given a small random skew, simulated sensor noise, and a warm paper tint before being rebuilt into a PDF with pdf-lib — entirely in your browser. It's a purely cosmetic effect; the underlying content isn't changed, just made to look like it went through a scanner.
Supported files
Accepts a PDF. Produces the same PDF re-rendered with a scanned-document look.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The effect is applied entirely in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib — nothing is uploaded.

PDF to Scanned PDF — frequently asked questions
Why would I want this?+
Some workflows expect a document to look physically scanned. This adds skew, sensor noise and paper tone to a born-digital PDF.
Is the text still selectable?+
No — each page becomes a flat image, so text can no longer be selected or searched.
Is there a free way to give a PDF a realistic scanned look?+
Yes — this tool adds skew, grain and paper tone, free and entirely in your browser.
Can I control how strong the effect is?+
Yes — adjust the skew angle and noise level before applying, from a subtle scan look to a heavily aged one.
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
