About adding a watermark

A watermark stamps text like DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, or a company name across every page — a visible signal about how a document should be treated, and a mild deterrent against casual reuse.

You set the text, position, size, rotation, and opacity, and PDFCure draws it onto each page in your browser with pdf-lib. The stamp becomes part of the page content in the new file. Because the tools run locally, the document you're marking is never uploaded.

Supported files

Accepts a single PDF. Produces a watermarked PDF. For an image watermark (a logo), use the Add Image tool.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The stamp is drawn onto each page with pdf-lib in your browser and becomes part of the downloaded file. The document is never uploaded.

Common problems

The watermark hides the text underneath
Lower the opacity (try 15-25%) and use a large rotated single line rather than a repeated tile.
Someone removed the watermark
A baked-in watermark can still be cropped or covered. For anything you truly need protected, combine it with a password (Protect PDF) and don't share the source file.

How to Watermark

Yes — use the separate Image Watermark tool for a logo or photo instead of text.

Will the watermark appear on every page?+

Yes, it's applied uniformly across the whole document.

Can I control the watermark's opacity and angle?+

Yes — set the opacity and rotation before applying, so it sits subtly behind the page content rather than fighting with it.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
