About filling and signing a PDF

Fill & Sign combines the two things you usually need to do to a form at once: type into the fields (or onto a flat form) and add your signature, initials, and the date, then download the finished copy.

It all runs in your browser — your entries and signature are written into the page and saved into a new PDF. The signature is a visible one, suitable for standard forms and agreements. The document and everything you add to it stay on your device.

Supported files

Accepts a single PDF — interactive forms and flat (scanned) forms both work. Produces a filled, signed PDF.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Your entries and signature are written into the page and saved into a new PDF in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.

Common problems

I can't click into any fields
The form is flat (a picture of a form). Switch to adding text boxes anywhere on the page instead of clicking fields.
Text doesn't line up with the boxes on a flat form
Nudge each text box into place and adjust the font size — there are no invisible field positions to snap to on a flat form.

Fill & Sign PDF — frequently asked questions

How is this different from Sign PDF?+

Sign PDF just places one signature. Fill & Sign is the whole form workflow — type into blanks, tick checkboxes with ✔ or ✘, drop today's date, and place your signature and initials, as many as you need across every page — then flatten it all into the PDF.

Does it work on a scanned form with no real form fields?+

Yes — everything is placed visually on top of the page image, so it works the same whether the PDF has interactive fields or is a flat scan. For a PDF that does have real fillable fields, Fill PDF Form is the more precise choice.

Is the signature a legally certified e-signature?+

No — it's a visual signature image drawn onto the page, not a certified digital signature with identity verification. For contracts that require legal e-signature compliance, use a dedicated e-signature service.

Does my signature or the document leave my device?+

No — the PDF is rendered, filled, and saved entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and your signature isn't stored.

Is there a free way to fill in and sign a PDF form online?+

Yes — this tool. It works entirely in your browser, so nothing uploaded and no account needed.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
