About converting TIFF to JPG
TIFF is the format scanners and print/archival workflows favor for its lossless, high-fidelity quality — but the files are large and not every app or website accepts them. Converting to JPG trades some of that fidelity for a far smaller, universally supported file.
The TIFF is decoded (including multi-layer TIFFs, using the same decoder as this site's other TIFF-aware tools) and re-encoded as JPG on a canvas at your chosen quality, entirely in your browser.
Supported files
Accepts TIFF images. Produces a .jpg image.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Decoding and re-encoding both happen entirely in your browser — the image is never uploaded.

TIFF to JPG — frequently asked questions
Is the file uploaded?+
No — the TIFF is decoded and re-encoded as JPG entirely in your browser.
Any quality loss?+
Only the single re-encode from the TIFF to JPG, which is negligible at default quality.
Is there a free way to convert a TIFF scan to JPG?+
Yes — this tool decodes the TIFF and re-encodes it as JPG entirely in your browser, free and with nothing uploaded.
Does this handle multi-page TIFFs?+
Only the first image in the file is used — split a multi-page TIFF first if you need every frame as its own JPG.
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
