About creating a PDF form

A flat PDF — even one built to look like a form, with lines and boxes drawn on it — isn't actually fillable in a PDF reader unless it has real form fields underneath. This tool adds those: click anywhere on a page to place a text field or a checkbox, and the result is a genuine fillable AcroForm, the standard PDF form technology every reader supports.

Each field you place is added to the PDF's form structure with pdf-lib at the exact position you clicked, entirely in your browser. Unlike Fill PDF Form — which fills in fields that already exist on a PDF that's already a form — this tool is for the opposite case: starting from a flat document and building the fillable fields yourself, useful for turning your own template into a reusable form.

Supported files

Accepts a PDF. Produces the same PDF with real, fillable text field and checkbox form fields added.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Fields are added entirely in your browser with pdf-lib — nothing is uploaded.

Create PDF Form — frequently asked questions

What's the difference between this and Fill PDF Form?+

This tool builds a new fillable form by adding real text fields and checkboxes onto a flat PDF that doesn't have any yet. The Fill PDF Form tool is for a PDF that's already a form — it lets you fill in the existing fields.

What field types can I add?+

Text fields and checkboxes — pick "Text" or "Checkbox", then click anywhere on the page to place one. Add as many as you need, across any page.

Will the fields actually be fillable afterward?+

Yes — the output is a real AcroForm PDF with functioning fields, openable and fillable in any standard PDF reader, not just an image of boxes.

Can I remove a field after placing it?+

Yes — click the field to select it, then remove it before generating the final PDF.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
