About signing a PDF

This adds a visible signature to a document — drawn with your mouse or finger, typed, or uploaded as an image — and places it where a signature line is. It is the fast way to return a signed agreement without printing and scanning.

The signature is drawn onto the page in your browser with pdf-lib and baked into the file you download. This is a visible signature, not a cryptographic digital signature, so it is right for everyday agreements rather than contexts that require certificate-based signing. Nothing is uploaded.

Supported files

Accepts a single PDF. Produces a signed PDF. Signature image uploads accept PNG (transparent background works best) and JPG.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Your signature is drawn onto the page with pdf-lib and baked into the file you download, all in your browser. The document and your signature never leave your device.

Common problems

My signature has a white box around it
Upload the signature as a PNG with a transparent background, or draw it directly in the tool instead of uploading a photo.
The signature is too big / in the wrong place
Drag it to reposition and use the corner handles to resize before you download.

How to Sign PDF

Is this a legally binding e-signature?+

This creates a visual signature image placed on the page — it's not a certified digital signature with identity verification. For contracts that require legal e-signature compliance, use a dedicated e-signature service.

Can I save my signature for reuse next time?+

Not currently — you'll draw your signature fresh each time you use the tool, and nothing is stored.

Is there a free way to sign a PDF online without an account?+

Yes — draw or type your signature and place it on the page, free, with no sign-up and no upload.

Can I resize or reposition the signature after placing it?+

Yes — drag it to reposition, and use the resize handle to scale it before applying to the page.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
