About splitting an audio file
Splitting one long recording into equal parts is useful for uploading under a size limit, working through a lecture in sessions, or breaking a DJ set or mixtape into tracks. This tool cuts any common audio file into the number of equal-length pieces you choose and hands them back as a zip.
The split happens on the decoded audio samples, so every cut is sample-accurate — no gaps and no overlaps between parts. Each piece is then encoded independently to MP3 or WAV (all parts use the same format) and named in order inside the zip.
It's built for even division. If you need one specific section rather than equal parts — the chorus, a single answer, the good ten seconds — use Trim Audio instead. Nothing is uploaded either way.

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
