About checking PDF page dimensions

Page size matters for print (A4 vs Letter aren't interchangeable), for matching a template, or just confirming a batch of scanned pages came out consistent. This tool reads the exact size of every page in a PDF and shows it in points, millimetres and inches side by side, since different fields quote size in different units.

It reads each page's dimensions directly from the PDF's page tree with pdf-lib, entirely in your browser — no rendering involved, so it works even on very large documents almost instantly. A mixed-size document (some pages A4, others Letter, a stray page rotated 90°) shows up clearly, one row per page.

Supported files

PDF Page Dimensions — frequently asked questions

Why are the dimensions not exactly A4?+

Many PDFs are a hair off the ISO size. Anything within about 1mm is labelled with the matching named size; the rest show as 'Custom'.

Is there a free way to check a PDF's exact page size?+

Yes — this tool shows each page's size in points, millimetres and inches, free and entirely in your browser.

Does it work on a very long document?+

Yes — dimensions are read directly from the page tree rather than rendered, so it's fast even on documents with hundreds of pages.

Is my file uploaded to check it?+

No — dimensions are read directly from the page tree entirely in your browser with pdf-lib.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
