Is my file uploaded?
No. The password is used to decrypt the file in your browser and the unprotected copy is generated locally. Neither the file nor the password is uploaded.
Common problems
- "Incorrect password"
- Check for caps lock and trailing spaces. This is the open password (needed to view the file), not an owner/permissions password.
- It says the PDF has no password
- The file only has a permissions/owner password (restricting printing or copying), not an open password. Those restrictions are advisory and most readers ignore them.
