Does this preserve the original layout, fonts, and images exactly?+
No — the text is extracted, translated, and rebuilt into a clean new PDF. True pixel-identical translation (same layout and graphics in a new language) needs a full desktop-publishing engine, which is beyond what a browser-based tool can do responsibly. This is closer in spirit to PDF-to-Word: it prioritizes getting an accurate, readable translation over exact visual fidelity.
Does it work for languages with non-Latin scripts, like Japanese or Arabic?+
Yes — rendering goes through your browser's own font system rather than a limited built-in PDF font, so the correct characters display for any of the 26 supported languages as long as your device has fonts for that script installed (true on virtually all modern systems).
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The only exception is the AI tools, which send the extracted text (not the file) to Claude to do their work.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
