Flatten PDF — frequently asked questions
What does "flatten" actually do?+
It draws each form field's current value directly onto the page as permanent content, then deletes the underlying fields — so what you see is what's there, and it can no longer be typed into or edited as a form.
Can I undo this afterward?+
No — flattening isn't reversible. Keep your original file if you might need to edit the form's values again later.
What if my PDF doesn't have any form fields?+
There's nothing to flatten, and the tool will tell you rather than produce an unchanged file. If you filled a form in yourself, use Fill PDF Form instead — it has a "flatten when done" option built in.
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The AI tools that used to send extracted text to a server are currently disabled.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
