Extract Images from PDF — frequently asked questions
How is this different from PDF to JPG?+
PDF to JPG rasterizes each whole page as one image. This tool instead pulls out just the individual photos and logos embedded within the page, each as its own file.
Why didn't it find any images?+
The PDF may be text-only, or its visuals may be built from vector shapes and fonts rather than embedded raster images — vector content isn't something this tool extracts.
What format are the extracted images saved as?+
PNG, regardless of how the image was originally encoded inside the PDF, so quality is preserved even for formats browsers can't otherwise handle directly.
Do you upload my files to a server?+
No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The AI tools that used to send extracted text to a server are currently disabled.
Is there a file size limit?+
There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
