What is PDF metadata used for?+

It's the Title, Author, Subject, and Keywords stored inside the file itself — shown in a PDF viewer's document properties panel, used by search engines and file indexers, and sometimes required by submission portals (theses, compliance archives).

Will this change how the PDF looks?+

No — metadata is invisible information about the file, not part of any page's content. Nothing on the pages themselves changes.

Can I clear a field instead of just changing it?+

Yes — empty a field and save; that removes it rather than leaving the old value.

Do you upload my files to a server?+

No — every tool here processes your files entirely on your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server. The AI tools that used to send extracted text to a server are currently disabled.

Is there a file size limit?+

There's no artificial limit we impose, but since processing happens in your browser, very large files (500+ MB or 1,000+ pages) are limited by your device's memory rather than by us.
