Is my GIF uploaded?+

No. It's decoded and re-encoded entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

How much smaller will it be?+

Often 30–80% smaller than the source GIF, since WebP compresses far better than GIF's ancient format — the tool shows the before/after size.

Which browsers work?+

Chrome, Edge and Safari 17+ — both decoding the GIF's frames and encoding WebP use browser APIs that Firefox doesn't fully support yet. The tool tells you if yours can't.

Does it keep the animation and transparency?+

Yes — every frame, its timing, and any transparency are preserved. It loops the same way the GIF did.
