Barcode Generator — frequently asked questions

What barcode types are supported?+

Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF-14, MSI and Pharmacode — the common 1D (linear) barcodes. For 2D codes use the QR Code Generator.

Why does it say my value is invalid?+

Each format has rules — EAN-13 needs 12–13 digits, UPC-A needs 11–12 digits, Code 39 is uppercase only. The hint under the format menu shows what each one accepts.

PNG or SVG?+

SVG for print and packaging (scales with no blur). PNG for pasting into a document or email.

Are the barcodes tracked?+

No. Everything is generated in your browser and the value is never sent anywhere.
