Which bitrate should I pick?+

192 kbps is a good default. Use 256–320 for music you care about, 128 for voice or when size matters most.

Is my file uploaded?+

No. The WAV is decoded and the MP3 encoded in your browser with a JavaScript port of the LAME encoder.

How much smaller will it be?+

Usually 8–12× smaller than the WAV, depending on the bitrate you choose.

Is any quality lost?+

MP3 is lossy, so yes — but at 192 kbps and above it's hard to hear on most material.
