Come Video to GIF

  1. 1

    Add your video

Drop in a short MP4, MOV or WebM clip — it's read in your browser, never uploaded.

  2. 2

    Set the range and size

Pick the start and end, the frame rate and the width. Keep it under ~15 seconds — GIFs get large fast.

  3. 3

    Make the GIF

Click Make GIF; frames are captured and encoded on your device, then you download the result.

Video to GIF — domande frequenti

Is my video uploaded?+

No. The video is read and every frame is captured and encoded to GIF entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

Why is there a length limit?+

GIF is an old, uncompressed format — a few seconds of video can be several megabytes. The tool caps the clip length to keep the result usable.

The GIF looks grainy — why?+

GIF allows only 256 colours per frame, so gradients and video noise get dithered. Lowering the frame rate or width usually helps more than it hurts.

Does it keep the audio?+

No — GIFs have no sound. To keep the audio, use Extract Audio from Video separately.
